So it seems to be something to do with the predefined searches in general and not specifically the user's edits or the open edits.

I wonder if ISWCs have the same problem...

I bet whoever wrote the controller (or wrote the edit types) just didn't bother to call the appropriate functions to load such things.

... never mind, this is a lot deeper. Crazy.
