I don't know if this should be a primary type or a secondary type, but I feel like we should have a release group type for this kind of release. a lot of artists do release their own sample packs and remix packs to the public, and I think these are interesting. that said, perhaps a new type is in order, so they can be hidden by data consumers (say, ListenBrainz, for instance)

I also think having sample packs in the database is useful, as the Samples material relationship can be used to link to a sample pack a track used samples from
