Picard

Picard should match tracks on right pane before looking for them any where else

Created: 02/Jan/12 04:03 PM   Updated: 18/Dec/12 09:34 AM
Component/s: Lookup & Match
Affects Version/s: 0.16
Fix Version/s: None

 Description  « Hide

When we put a release on right pane it is usually to match files with its tracks.
When we click Scan, the matching tracks are from other releases which use the same recordings instead of the release that's already loaded in right pane.
I mean it should prefer already loaded release if it's the same recording, no need to load a new release.
Usually we want the one we specifically loaded.

The more I write the less understandable it is. :/

Sort Order: Ascending order - Click to sort in descending order

Workaround (comes from PICARD-141)

  1. before hitting the scan button, reset the Musicbrainz server in the options musicbrainz.org→musicbrainz.orga
  2. scan the files (they won't be matched to the release you don't want)
  3. once all scans done, reset the MB server to musicbrainz.org
  4. drag and submit IDs

OMG the work-around doesn't work any more !? Is the MBS server now HARD-CODED in the SCAN button ? Or is there a fallback or something ?
I'm really in need of a solution for (how to) scanning without matching / looking up. :/
