I've been tagging the ones I come across with "unknown year", I've found quite a few - http://musicbrainz.org/show/tag/?tag=unknown%20year&show=artist so it'd be nice if we could just enter the month and day.

How would this be displayed? At the moment a partial is display as YYYY-MM-DD, does MM-DD make sense? If you've only got a month, or only got a day, they could end up displaying the same (MM vs DD) which is confusing.

I like how the Japanese Wikipedia does it ("????" in grey for the year), e.g. the dates in the infoboxes on http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/細井聡司 and http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/中原涼_(歌手)
