patate12: for translation, some strings can be annotated with extra bits of information in comments; there's a specific syntax to denote that a comment was added automatically (hence "automatic comment").

So, what this ticket is saying is that the ISO code is useful for translation (in addition to the country, language, or script name itself, of course) and should be made available to translators; an automatic comment is just the appropriate place to put that information.
