 Description  « Hide

Making this ticket at the last minute, since I've already done the work, but: split up the domains into languages, scripts, countries, relationships, instruments, instrument descriptions, statistics, attributes, and everything else goes in the default mb_server domain. This lets us reuse existing lists of translated ISO codes (and lets others use ours), splits out unuseful or not-very-used things (instrument descriptions and statistics), and allows prioritizing much better for translators. Also incidentally fixes some other bugs, but you can read that on the codereview!

Re: "and lets others use ours"

There's a Debian related project that has had ISO X .po files out there for many years: http://pkg-isocodes.alioth.debian.org/

Just in case you weren't aware. The Danish translation of iso 639-3 is what I used to kickstart the translation of the MB languages domain.

Debian's iso-codes package has been a source listed on our Server Internationalisation page for a while It's not perfectly reliable, as they sometimes do msgmerge without really checking things (I've seen Arabic translated as Aramaic – in eo, but the point stands). But, they are a source that's listed. I'm hoping to add the unicode CLDR as well, at some point, though they don't directly release .po as I understand it.

"I've seen Arabic translated as Aramaic"

So have I. These translations have always been marked as fuzzy though, and as such shouldn't be used by programs using the translations, but are merely there to try and help (human) translators.

This is in beta testing with the origin/split-domains branch (one merge conflict addressed since Ian's branch).
