Label & Catalog # removed after an existing edit failed.

 Description  « Hide

It appears that if an "Edit release label" (edit type) fails it causes any changes applied afterwards to be removed.

Issue is listed here - http://musicbrainz.org/edit/16564445 on release
http://musicbrainz.org/release/644c6671-3119-4998-bd7b-d549a105d49a
"I added the catalog # and label but both appear to have been removed (i'm guessing) after this failed. It Did show when I added them
edit #16576872 edit #16576873 edit #16577034"

Part of the edit shows under the label as applied but nothing about the catalog # - http://musicbrainz.org/edit/16577034

Test server isn't cooperating so couldn't verify the exact conditions. (as of yet)

Expected result would be that since an Auto-Editor made changes that were applied, any prior edits would fail (dependency?) and all applied changes take precedence and would remain.

This already works the same as other edits on the site, e.g.

Editor A enters a relationship incorrectly
Editor B fixes the relationship but votes no on the "add relationship" edit
Edit fails and the relationship is removed

It doesn't really make sense to me to vote no and enter edits to fix it.

IMHO if the label which has pending edits is removed then the pending edits should add a new label instead of failing.
