See for example http://musicbrainz.org/doc/MusicBrainz_Bio where all User links are broken. There are two solutions for this: transcluding the userspaces or autolinking to the wiki. The former sounds as an unwanted overkill, so the right option is probably making User:Whatever links direct to the correct wiki article.
