As in http://people.iola.dk/olau/flot/examples/turning-series.html, our timeline graph should allow lines to be removed or added and the graph redrawn to reflect this. The initial interface for this can simply be clicking on the legend area to add/remove lines, but this will later need more serious designing as we add more entities to the timeline graph.
