But everytime I try, musicbrainz gives me an error.

...and what is that error? Please be specific.

If it's a "bad gateway" error, this is probably an effective duplicate of MBS-2329, MBS-2347 and others that basically amount to "add missing entities makes way too many queries and is too slow".

It's a "(No details about this error are available)" error that occurs immediately after leaving the Tracklist page.

I've gotten this error on a lot of other releases too whose tracklists/track artists need editing.

I can't replicate an error after leaving the tracklist page. Mine goes to the recordings page and asks me to select the changed recordings, as I'd expect. Again, please give specific instructions for what you're doing to replicate the problem.

It works now.

The other release I used to get "(No details about this error are available)" also "works" now, meaning not crashing, so it can now tell me "An artist is required on track X" for every track #X where I have a 1st artist credit with no artist but with a join phrase, and a 2nd artist credit with an artist in it.

e.g., changing track 10's artist to say "Remixed by [artist]DJ Command[/artist]", where "Remixed by" is the join phrase in the empty 1st artist credit, and "DJ Command" is the 2nd artist credit linking to an actual artist.
