 Description  « Hide

Try seeding the editor with this seed data missing the first track's details

<form action="" method="POST">
<input type="hidden" name="name" value="Test"/>
<input type="hidden" name="" value="Chad"/>
<input type="hidden" name="mediums.0.format" value="CD"/>
<input type="hidden" name="mediums.0.position" value="0"/>
<input type="hidden" name="" value="Track1"/>
<input type="hidden" name="" value="Chad2"/>

<input type="hidden" name="" value="Track1"/>
<input type="hidden" name="" value="Chad2"/>

<input type="submit" name="seed_it"/>

The tracklist as parsed ends up as

1. - Chad - Chad
2. Track1 - Chad2
3. Track1 - Chad2

Is there a better way to handle this so that track 1 has an empty artist and title, thus forcing user to manually enter it? This will help handle the "add cluster as release" case where the user perhaps doesn't have all the tracks of a release.

The workaround is for whatever is seeding the editor to send blank values, but this causes other issues at the moment, which I'll create a separate issue for.

I think this is doing the correct thing. The missing track has a default track number, a default position, and the artist defaults to the release artist. You can't click 'next' without providing a track title. Thus I am closing this as wont fix as I think the current behaviour is fine.

Defaulting to the release artist is not useful when you're trying to add various artists releases; however in any case the editor has obviously completely changed since this was logged so I dunno. When this was logged we still had the basic parser as default which is predominantly what caused problems here.

There appears to be yet another bug now in that (at least on test) when you seed with this file currently, the track lengths appear as NaN:aN
