No idea how this happened (one track of the disc) - but this is a newer user so perhaps a good usability test! Perhaps we can think about how to improve usability of artist credits at track level (improvement has been made for the release artist) some time soon. Another example at This issue has been partially fixed in master, commit e2d3fa2467cae1e8eb0ea46b136748c712433119. The release editor will now warn if the Various Artists special purpose artist is used anywhere in an artist credit on a track. To close this ticket, I still need to add warnings to other recordings, and all artist credits where VA is one of multiple linked artists. merged into master, commit 72a9eec539d500d0938723e73e7447954b4a9db6 I think sufficient warnings have been added for now, so I'm closing this ticket. Our next server release will be on sept 12th, if anyone sees considerable VA abuse after that date, we will have to revisit the issue. In that case, feel free to re-open this ticket and/or discuss the issue in our weekly irc dev meetings. |
