http://test.musicbrainz.org/edit/13876434 is better than what we had in Mason (where that would be in a straight line to the right that went out of the screen and forced scrollong). But it is confusing and not really useful. Could this be shown in two columns? It might be in a way similar to how we currently do with names ( http://test.musicbrainz.org/edit/13876114 ):

Track A oldtimeA newtimeA
Track B oldtimeB newtimeB
... ... ...
Track oldtime newtime

With "Track Whatever" being bold, old time red, new time green.

http://beta.musicbrainz.org/edit/18134966 for an example that actually works; MBS-4970 makes historic ones not appear in many cases but the formatting is essentially the same.

See attached image: how does this look?

I don't really want to make this one huge tall table – scrolling vertically isn't better than horizonally, in my opinion. One option might be to split it up into, say, multiple tables of 5-10 tracks each, and inline-block them like I have with the tiny ones in the picture.

ignore the highlighting on the "track lengths" thing, that's just from chrome

Ian McEwen added a comment - 03/Aug/12 11:39 PM

With a thinner browser window, the minitables thing ends up wrapping whole blocks: so you'll basically get a linebreak before one of the columns (e.g.:

1 6 11
2 7 12
3 8 13
4 9 14
5 10 15

16 21 26
17 22 27
18 23 28
19 24
20 25

Setting fix version.

Moving to next fix version, since we're in freeze.

Another example of what this could look like, with a fixed-width version of tracknumbers.png

I like mini table then big table then fixed width.

Kuno Woudt added a comment - 17/Aug/12 11:27 AM

Indeed, the side-by-side tracktimes in minitables.png look better than fixedwidth.png.

Giving up on this for now, seems to be no agreement.
