As per http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/?title=User:RobertKaye/3Scale_Non_Rate_Limited_Web_Service please setup Varnish and the 3scale plugin on carl/lenny.

Either have carl/lenny use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (for Varnish >= 3.0); or install varnish on carl/lenny from source; or proxy from carl/lenny to some other server which hosts varnish (eww).
